Topic 3:From Reading to Writing
Over the last ten years research has shown that reading and writing are more interdependent than we thought. A child’s literacy development is dependent on this interconnection between reading and writing. In this session, the presenter will introduce a structured approach to teaching students through text analysis, scaffolding, and process writing. Through the use of exemplar readings and practicing writing in different text types, students can build their knowledge of text structure and language features and become more effective writers in English.
